SUBJ: COAST GUARD LEARNING PORTAL TRANSITION TO CGPORTAL
1. THE CG LEARNING PORTAL (HTTPS://LEARNING.USCG.MIL) WILL BE
INTEGRATED WITH CGPORTAL (HTTPS://CGPORTAL.USCG.MIL) ON 03JAN2011 AT
1400Z (0900 EST). THIS INTEGRATION WILL ELIMINATE THE NEED FOR
USERID/PASSWORD AND IMPROVE THE STABILITY AND PERFORMANCE OF YOUR
E-LEARNING EXPERIENCE.
2. TIMELINE FOR INTEGRATION.
A. COURSE ENROLLMENTS FOR NON-MANDATED TRAINING WILL BE DISABLED
ON 20DEC2010 AT 1400Z (0900 EST).
B. ALL REMAINING COURSE ENROLLMENTS WILL BE DISABLED ON 01JAN2011
AT 0500Z (0000 EST).
C. ALL LEARNING PORTAL COURSE STATUS AND HISTORY WILL BE DELETED
ON
01JAN2011 AT 0500Z (0000 EST). PARTIALLY COMPLETED COURSES WILL BE
DELETED, THEREFORE MEMBERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO RE-ENROLL.
D. E-LEARNING COURSEWARE WILL BE AVAILABLE IN THE TRAINING AND
EDUCATION SECTION IN CGPORTAL ON 03JAN2011 AT 1400Z (0900 EST).
3. LEARNING PORTAL COURSE HISTORY: PERSONNEL DESIRING TO RETAIN THEIR
LEARNING PORTAL COURSE HISTORY CAN SAVE THEIR COURSE HISTORY BY
COMPLETING THE FOLLOWING STEPS:
A. LOG INTO HTTPS://LEARNING.USCG.MIL
B. CLICK ON MY COURSES AND INFORMATION
C. CLICK ON MY HISTORY
D. IN THE POP-UP WINDOW, CLICK EXPORT TO EXCEL
4. E-LEARNING COURSEWARE ACCESS.
A. COAST GUARD COMMON ACCESS CARD (CAC) USERS
(1) USERS WILL ACCESS E-LEARNING COURSEWARE ON A STANDARD
WORKSTATION THROUGH CGPORTAL IN THE TRAINING AND EDUCATION
SECTION.
(2) FOR REMOTE (HOME) ACCESS, PERSONNEL WILL NEED TO LOG INTO
CGPORTAL TO UTILIZE E-LEARNING COURSEWARE. USERS DESIRING THIS
CAPABILITY SHOULD CONTACT THEIR LOCAL IT SUPPORT OFFICE FOR MORE
INFORMATION.
B. AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL WITHOUT CAC CARDS.
(1) IN THE SPRING OF 2011, AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL WITHOUT CAC CARDS
WILL BE ABLE TO ACCESS E-LEARNING COURSEWARE AT
HTTPS://AUXLEARNING.USCG.MIL (AUX LEARNING). MORE INFORMATION ON
AUX LEARNING IS FORTHCOMING SEPCOR.
(2) STARTING 03JAN2011, NON-CAC USERS CAN USE THE CG VIRTUAL
CLASSROOM AT HTTP://VIRTUALCLASSROOMUSCG.ORG/USR/MOODLE TO
COMPLETE MANDATED TRAINING REQUIREMENTS UNTIL AUX LEARNING IS
ESTABLISHED.
5. POST-MIGRATION E-LEARNING COURSE COMPLETION TRACKING.
A. E-LEARNING COURSES THAT DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY REGISTER
COMPLETION
IN TMT SHOULD BE RECORDED MANUALLY BY THE UNIT TRAINING OFFICER IN
DIRECT ACCESS.
B. A CURRENT LIST OF COURSES THAT AUTOMATICALLY REGISTER
COMPLETION
IN TMT CAN BE FOUND ON THE AOPS/TMT WEBSITE AT
HTTP://AOPSWEB.OSC.USCG.MIL/
(1) SELECT TMT LISTS, MAPPINGS
(2) SELECT E-LEARNING
C. AFTER THE MIGRATION, COURSE COMPLETION CERTIFICATES WILL NOT BE
PROVIDED. TRAINING OFFICERS SHOULD USE A MEMBERS COURSE COMPLETION
HISTORY TO VERIFY COMPLETION.
6. SKILLPORT.
A. PERSONNEL CAN ACCESS SKILLPORT AT HTTPS://USCG.SKILLPORT.COM
B. ACCESS TO SKILLPORT WILL REQUIRE A USER ID/PASSWORD UNTIL A
SINGLE SIGN-ON METHODOLOGY IS DEVELOPED.
(1) YOUR USER ID IS YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS.
(2) TO OBTAIN A TEMPORARY PASSWORD, CLICK ON THE FORGOT YOUR
PASSWORD LINK. THE TEMPORARY PASSWORD WILL BE SENT TO YOUR EMAIL
ACCOUNT.
