Woman Wanted in Indiana Found by CBP in The Virgin IslandsFailed to Appear at a DUI hearing in Indiana

ST. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands – Wednesday night U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers detected a female traveler with an outstanding warrant for failing to appear at a court hearing in Porter County, Ind.
CBP Officers detected Sherry L. Young, 43, (aka Sherry L. McClain, Sherry L. Foster, Sherry L. Brownbridge) at the Henry E. Rholsen Airport before boarding a US Airways flight bound for Akron Canton International Airport, via San Juan and Philadelphia International Airports.
Computer systems alerted to a positive match to a National Crime Information Center docket, which indicated a warrant for Young for failure to appear for a driving under the influence charge.
After corroborating the warrant, CBP officers allowed Young to finish her route, where the Summit County Sheriff’s Office made the formal arrest.
Through pre-clearance inspections, CBP Officers detect many individuals wanted by authorities in the continental United States, upon their return to the mainland from Puerto Rico and the USVI.
“CBP officers are always vigilant of dangerous individuals who try to move freely, trying to elude detection,” stated Marcelino Borges, director of Field Operations for Puerto Rico and the United States Virgin Islands. “Technology and close collaboration amongst law enforcement allows us to detect felons and bring them to justice.”
U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control and protection of our nation's borders at and between the official ports of entry. CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.
